Ministry to Parents

Each child develops at their own pace and displays each skill at different points throughout each year of their life. Our job is to support and guide their learning, providing opportunities for them to practice their emerging growth. Let’s look at some of the main characteristics of development for each elementary grade and how we can encourage and nurture children’s new-found skills.

I need to find ways to grow and learn as a parent if I’m going to both maintain my sanity and help my kids grow into the man and woman I pray they will become. If you can relate at all, I would encourage you to consider doing a few things that will help you be a better parent and help your family step into all that God has for you.

The church setting is no different than school. The more you learn about the continuum of development, the better you’re able to spiritually engage kids while giving attention to their physical, social, and emotional needs in the phase they’re in.

As you seek to minister to the whole family, having a real focus on helping parents should be a key part of your strategy. As parents attempt to lead their teenagers both practically and spiritually, they need help, and the church is perfectly positioned to offer some real relief.

The calendar has flipped to January. A new year has begun, extending the gift of a slower season if we’ll accept it. This is a natural time to reflect, examine our habits, and evaluate the speed at which we’ve been living. The new year naturally lends itself to making changes.
